Unexpected K-Mart Christmas clearance

Today I decided to go to K-Mart to buy my daughter some kids vitamins. I had a free $5 credit on my K-mart shop your way card. If you don't have a k-mart card, I suggest you sign up for one. It's free and you earn points back on your purchases but most of all from time to time they just randomly give you free money!! Yes I said free money, last year I received $3, $5, and even $10 (multiple times!) to spend on anything! So anyways while we're at checkout, the lady makes an announcement about all the Christmas clearance being $.10 today! Yeah, we jumped out of line and went to check it out. My mom has always told me stories about how a few years ago she got wrapping paper at K-Mart for $.10 and I always told her yeah right I don't believe it. Well today she proved me wrong lol.

1- Kids vitamin @ $8.99
9- wrapping papers @ $.10/ea
1- box of cards @ $.10

Total before credit: $9.99
Total after credit: $4.99

BBW outlet, Toysrus & Publix

Today we decided to take a trip down south to the outlet mall. This mall happened to have a Bath & body works outlet..like the REAL outlet. Not the regular store that happens to be inside of an outlet mall..this was the real deal! I went crazy in there! Everything pictured above was broken up into 3 separate transactions so I could use some $10/30 coupons. Total for everything after coupons was $68 but I had some money left on a Christmas gift card so I paid $47 out of pocket.

Since we were far down south I decided to see if there was a Toysrus or Babiesrus around so I could hunt for more free diapers. This store had a ton of the $10 diapers but they did something different. Instead of getting a regular $20 gift card back, they gave a promotional gift card..which means that you can't use it until 6 hrs later :(  What a shame because I was going to buy like 6 more boxes..oh well you win some, you lose some. At least I ended up with a total of 6 boxes.

Our final stop was at Publix. Today is the last day of the weekly ad, the new ad starts tomorrow so I had to go to Publix to finish up this weeks deal. They had no beechnut fruities which was what I needed to get to $30 and it would have given some great overage too. Because of that missing item, it messed up my transaction, I was going to pay $.17 OOP for everything. But this is how it went instead...

2- Haagen-dazs ice cream @ $4.09 (BOGO)
4- Birds eye voila meals @ $5.15/ea set of 2 (BOGO) this particular publix had higher prices too
2- Rudi's bread @ $3.99 (BOGO)

Total before coupons: $18.38
Total after coupons: $3.29

Coupons used: MQ- manufacturer coupon, PQ- Publix coupon

1- BOGO haagen-dazs MQ
4- $1.75/1 bird's eye voila MQ
2- $2/1 rudi's MQ

Great deals @ Toysrus/Babiesrus & Victoria's Secret

Last night I read a tip about getting these diapers for a great deal. Basically the deal is that you buy 2 boxes (it has to have over 72+ diapers per box) and then you get back a $20 Toysrus/Babiesrus gift card. Notice that these boxes have the $10 special value pack banner in the top right corner, only these boxes are ringing up at $10/ea!

So it went like this..buy 2 boxes, pay $20 plus tax ($21.20) and get back a $20 gift card, then buy 2 more boxes and use the $20 gift card you earned and pay tax only ($1.20) and get back another $20 gift card! The only problem is finding these special boxes. I went searching at 4 different stores and found 2 at one store and 2 at another. The good thing about these boxes is that inside they have coupons, one of the coupons is for $6 off babiesrus brand diapers. I read that you could use them on this deal but the 2nd store that I went to said that I couldn't use the coupons and get the $20 gift card, it was one or the other..so I chose the gift card. Still a good deal! I mentioned this because it's worth a try trying to use the $6 coupons. If I decide to go hunting for more, I will try to use them again! Another thing to note is that Toysrus carries diapers too and I had better luck finding the diapers there instead of Babiesrus (they were sold out at the 2 I checked).

I received an email from Victoria's Secret this morning for a coupon for $10 off the new Pink bralette and another coupon for a free Pink cheekster panty with any Pink purchase. The fine print said that the $10 coupon can be combined with Angel reward cards. I just so happened to receive my $10 Angel reward card last week for all my shopping during Christmas and they also mailed a coupon for a free lacie thong (no purchase necessary). This new bralette costs $24.50, I had $20 off, got the free cheekster panty, and free lacie thong and only paid $4.77! What a deal!

Our 2nd and 3rd stop was Bath & Body Works, we went to 2 different ones. We used the facebook offer they posted for a free mini valentine's lotion, all you do is claim the offer on facebook, they send it to your email and you just show it on your smartphone at the store. One location was out of the valentine's lotions and substituted the new tropical ones in place, which was awesome! Not only are they yummy but they are 1 oz larger so SCORE! And the 2nd location actually had the valentine's lotions, me and my 3 yr old can't wait to test these out tonight. We are already fighting over who gets what! lol

Total spent: $0

Our final stop was at Target. We were bored so we decided to go shopkicking. See this post here to learn more about the Shopkick app. I already accumulated 500 kicks so I redeemed for a $2 Target gift card and my mom was short by about 250 points so we went hunting for the items to scan and after hunting she had enough points to redeem a $2 GC as well! The 2 bounce dryer bars were bought in 2 separate transactions.

Transaction #1:
1- Bounce dryer bar (pictured on the right, notice how it says $4 off on the box) @ $4.29
Used $0.50/1 MQ
Used 2 shopkick GC's that we earned and paid $0.05

Transaction #2:

Victoria's Secret Semi Annual Sale haul

Today we decided to check out the SAS at Victoria's Secret and to my surprise I found some awesome stuff! After having 2 kids via c-section my body is not what it used to be so now I live in shapewear! And I love VS shapewear, not only is it comfortable as hell but it does NOT show under your clothes at all. You can even wear regular panties with it and the panty lines won't show through! Anyways, I almost placed an online order for 1 of the shapewear dresses shown above and it was on clearance for $39.99, imagine my surprise when I saw these in the store marked down to $29.99 and they were giving an extra 50% off so it was $15!! And I am obsessed with the slimming shorts, I bought these last month for $24 (with a coupon), these were marked down to $12.99 and when I went to the register they rang up at $6.50!!! Yeah if only they had more in my size I would've bought them all, that's how much I love them.

3- shapewear dresses @ $15/ea (reg price $78/ea)
5- slimming shorts @ $6.50/ea (reg price $32/ea)
1- bra (not pictured) @ $15.99 (reg price $48)
1- love spell hand sanitizer (not pictured) @ $.88 (reg price $3.50)

Total before coupons: $100.03 with tax
Total after coupons: $78.83

If you're wondering what coupons I used, sometimes at the end of your receipt a survey prints and you call the 800 number and answer the questions through an automated system and then they give you a 5 digit code to write down on the receipt. The survey coupon is for $10 off $50 purchase and it never expires! The ones I used were from like 2008!

I find that I get the most kicks walking into Target and Macys, for example today they gave me 200 kicks for walking into Target and I scanned about 4 products listed and got 100 kicks. Needless to say between me and my mom's phones, we earned 6 gift cards because we've been shopkicking for a while now.

Well today we also went to the outlet mall to go to Build-a-Bear and ended up at Stride Rite's outlet. Found my son a pair of clearance shoes for $12.80! Their shoes are so expensive but for early walkers it is the best, so finding a pair for this price was awesome! And wouldn't you know it, I had a 10% coupon in my bag!

Orig price: $34.99
Clearance price: $12.80
Price after coupon: $11.65

1st post- Happy New Year!

Happy 2013! I have decided to start a blog chronicling all of my shopping trips using coupons. I have been couponing not really extreme but moderate for the last 2 years. In 2012 I know I saved a ton of money and got a lot of freebies using coupons so I decided that this year I would log every single trip using coupons so I can see how much I can save this year.

The title of this blog is Couponing Gyrls because I don't do this alone. My mom and my 3 yr old daughter accompany me on every trip! We are a team! I am the leader of this team, my daughter just loves to shop period, and my mom loves to see how much money we saved.
